Consumer Reports is a magazine which strives to inform buyers of the best brands and products as well as product reliability. Another reason why this magazine is used and respected by so many is because Consumer Reports is independently run. Since Consumer Reports is independently run,this all of the reviews in the magazine are non-biased and there is no loyalty to a particular company or brand.
What I like about the magazine is that no space is wasted on reviewing items and the items that are reviewed are very diverse. Consumer Reports also has an area which gives products alerts as well as recalls which is helpful if you need to know if there's a problem or a recall with something you bought.
The information given in the magazine is easy to read and very detailed. I also like that the magazine lists the pros and cons of buying certain types of items.For example, if you were planning on buying a digital camera. The magazine would suggest the type of camera you should buy depending on the price as well as level of photography experience the person buying the camera has.The pros and cons are very important and helpful you'll know what you need to buy before you spend your money.
In reference to other reviewers saying that can't get Consumer reports because of the price for the on-line subscription, my suggestion is to check your local library. I work at the library in town and we subscribe to the Consumer Reports and have done so for years. Since we get the paper copy, we don't have the problem with the on-line subscription.
Overall, this is a very good magazine and it's extremely helpful in making decisions when you're planning to buy something.
