The only thing entertaining about this magazine is to observe the 101 ways they find every issue to discuss sex as though it is a whole new, exciting article. Other than that, (and their slightly interesting covers) this magazine is a sexist piece of trash.
My wife used to subscribe to Cosmo, until a couple of years ago when two articles finally pushed her over the edge. One was about women who cheat on their husbands and why (maybe so you may realize that you, took, are justified in your transgressions.) The article never once mentioned that this may harm your marriage or that it may (does this sound too judgmental?) be downright WRONG!
One woman said she is having an affair because since the kids were born, her husband has been much more interested in being a father than in being her sex machine, so she is having an affair "for the sake of her children" so she gets the sex that she wants without a divorce. EXCUSE ME?
If this same comment appeared in a men's magazine with the pronouns reversed, women would be up in arms. When did "women's lib" become women justified in behaving as badly as men at their worst?
Another article infuriated my wife because of its obvious bias. It was an article about the "pro life woman" and the article was peppered with photos of toothless women carrying misspelled signs- as though the majority of pro life women are stupid hillbillies who never went to school and have had their teeth beaten out of them by some man in their life. These women looked so awful that I am sure the editors were implying that they were prolife because they were jealous that attractive women actually had a sex life.
I am pro choice, but I have many educated, very attractive friends who are prolife. I was infuriated for them.
My wife cancelled her subscription- too bad, we kind of had fun reading the articles and arguing over which was the worst every month.
