JHershey's Full Review: ESPN Magazine Subscription
Sports Illustrated was the original magazine for the total sports fanatic, but now there is ESPN the magazine. I purchased a subscription to Sports Illustrated four years ago and have been happy with the coverage ever since. This is my first year with a subscription to ESPN and I regret the thrity some dollars I spent. Although ESPN may look appealing with it's fancy covers and great pictures, like a person, its whats on the inside thats counts. When the New York Yankees won the World Series, as much as some Red Sox fans may not have liked it Sports Illustrated had more than one article on there triumphant season. However, on no occasion did ESPN the magazine include a major article on the Yanks sweep of the Braves. So, although this magazine may look better on the outside, it is its lack of major event coverage other than X-games or other events on ESPN or ESPN2 that hurts its image.
