I pick up a copy of Dell's Easy Fast-n-Fun Crosswords every now and then. They are easy to pick up and put down in between doing other things.

They are mildly challenging and pretty entertaining. They are a great way to improve your vocabulary because you need to work at some of the answers which helps it stick in your brain!

I purchase a lot of different types of puzzles books by many different companies and Dell, by far, are my favorites. In particular, I like the Logic Puzzles but these are great for killing time waiting for someone or in a lobby waiting for an appointment.

At just a few bucks an issue, it's worth picking one up and storing it in the glove boxes for those unexpected waits!
