| johnel's Full Review: Fortean Times Magazine |
This magazine is quite upbeat, but with a wicked sense of humor. It does not worry about who it berates, but can do it in a distinctly subtle way,so that it appears to be meant for the intellectuals in the community.Talking about the community, some of the articles are a good advert for people who are having care in the community - most of it's subscribers ,for a start. It's a lot of fun and if you can have a laugh at the establishment, then it's no bad thing. We all could do with taking a humorous and critical look at ourselves.
I found out about Fortean Times -a few years ago - through reading another irreverent magazine, here in the U.K. Fortean times will appeal to anyone with a slightly bizarre sense of humor, much like myself.
It reminds me of the days of 'Monty Python',the slightly wacky t.v.show in the U.K. That is really what appeared to spawn all of the other irreverent 'stuff the Establishment' genre of both literature and the media.
Long may they all continue and best wishes to an irreverent future to Fortean Times.
