Many videogame publications have come and gone, but one that has always stayed true to the needs of the gamer, is Gamepro. I have been a loyal subscriber to Gamepro for four years now. Every issue is at the same quality. If you’re looking for an informative, fresh, and helpful videogame magazine, Gamepro should be it.
Gamepro
This is a magazine that is coming up on its 12th year. This magazine features upcoming games, reviews of the newest titles on the market, and accurate and helpful strategy guides.
Some of you might be thinking that this is what almost every other gaming magazine offers and that is true. So what does Gamepro have that other publications don’t? They have writers and experts that know videogames. Don’t get me wrong, I respect many other magazines, but I trust Gamepro’s ratings most. They rate games from a scale from 0.0- 5.0. They also have ratings like 4.5 and so on too.
The areas of the game that they rate are helpful too. They rate on Graphics, Control, Sound, and Fun Factor. When I look for a game, I want to know how fun it is going to be. With Gamepro, they tell me what I want to hear with the exact aspects of the game that I want to know about.
What I love about Gamepro is their great relationship with the reader. They freely give out the email addresses of each writer of the magazine. You can write any questions or comments that you might have with the magazine, and they will write back the next day. I write to the writers and awful lot about game updates and such and I get fast and accurate responses.
In the summer, I found a mistake where they accidentally posted the same picture of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 for Playstation, in the Dreamcast review page. I told one of the writers and he congratulated me for finding it, and he offered to send me a Gamepro T-shirt. I received it days later in a package in the mail with a message from Dan Elektro himself. That is not being his real name because every writer in the magazine makes up an acronym for his or her name.
I love this magazine a lot. It is the only gaming publication that I ever read and I am proud to support it because of its quality content. The strategy guides have helped me get out of jams in my new games countless times.
I love this magazine. So how does it compare to other videogame magazines? Lets see how Gamepro stacks up. Ratings are from one to five stars.
I know a lot of people complain about the amount of ads that they see in this magazine, but if you think about it, it is not that big of a problem. The ads are about videogames right? So how is that wrecking the quality of the content? More than half of videogame sales are from ads in magazines and Internet, so I want to see some ads! The letters to the editors and buyer beware are especially helpful because I become aware of hardware bugs on my favorite gaming consoles and questions of various videogames. The writers for the magazine are helpful and give insulting but funny responses. The reviews, I find to me most helpful than any other magazine or website. These are some reasons why I renew my subscription year after year.

Overall *****
There is nothing more to say. I flat out love this magazine. Their opinions mean the most to me than any other person, website, or magazine that I read. I love writing to the writers of the magazine. How many other magazines respond quickly to all of your gaming questions? The reviews are dead on, their previews give me a glimpse of what upcoming games are going to be like, and the codes let me cheat my way though games. All in all, this is an excellent magazine.
Bottom Line: This is the best magazine for gaming.
