Goldmine magazine is a prime source for record collectors seeking out-of-print product. It offers in-depth histories of and interviews with various recording artists from the most popular to the most obscure.

The magazine keeps you up-to-date on reissues of classic vinyl LPs onto CDs while also telling you just how much your record collection may be worth.

Albums and 45s are rated by condition in assigning a monetary value (for instance, a "mint" copy of an album (no scratches and a cover that looks "new") is worth more than a a "good" copy (scratches and a cover showing wear-and-tear). In some cases, an album may have appeared under the same title but with different tracks (as in The Beatles' VeeJay album "Introducing The Beatles" where one version is worth only a few dollars but another version is worth hundreds of dollars).

Goldmine also has a rating service to identify advertisers as trust-worthy or not. The magazine's advertisers in turn offer new and old products for purchase or bidding using Goldmine's record ratings guide so you know the quality of the product being offered.

Record collecting can be both fun and profitable. This is a necessary resource for the serious collector. It's a fun read if you're just a fan of a profiled artist.
