Although I like G&A magazine I did not like it enough to keep subscribing, although I was a subscriber for some time.
Many articles proved very interesting, especially the real life experiences of people faced with danger, having to protect themselves by their firearm.
But as a buying guide their reviews are so generalized and skewed I found I could not trust them. Often they mentioned how good the Para Ordinance series was. I bought three versions of the .45 and all three had the very same problems. They would jam every 25 to 50 rounds and the spent cartridges would fly backward, hitting me on the top of my head. Only when I bought a Heckler Koch compact .45 did I realize that such guns did not have to have these problems. I guess this mag company cannot deal with the fact many people buy their magazine because they are simply looking to buy a gun. Their hands are tied due to their advertisers.
My Heckler Koch has NEVER jammed and spent cartridges fly off sideways away from me as they should. I assume the only reason for Guns and Ammo giving lame reviews is that they are paid by advertising companies. Indeed, all other gun magazines seemed just as bad when it came to reviews, until I subscribed to Gun Tests magazine, which does not rely on advertising.
Bottom line: if you want honest reviews go elsewhere, but for interesting reading this magazine may be for you.
Oh, and I don't care how "pretty" they make these guns look; NEVER BUY A PARA ORDINANCE PISTOL. This Canadian .45 is a total piece of junk...trust me on this one.
