Scam Magazine
Written: Oct 12 '01
Pros:I received the magazine for free
Cons:price they want you to pay for the magazine, scams, ads, ....everything.
The Bottom Line: Thanks for reading!
I first learned of this magazine while browsing a freebie site. Just fill out a short form and Home Business will send you a free copy of their magazine. I did just that and received the magazine in about 2 weeks.
Home Business is a magazine that will show you ways to work at home. Their motto is "Connecting people with money making opportunities."
I received the October 2001 issue. While browsing the cover I learned that they sell this 80 pg magazine for $5.95. At first I couldn't believe it. That's outrageous! But after flipping through the magazine I did believe it. The magazine was full of scams! So I guess the price of the magazine is just a scam within itself.
The magazine contains 3 one page departments including Company Overview, Opportunity Spotlight, and Getting Started. It also contains 7 articles about people who have made it big with different internet opportunities.
The rest of the magazine is full of ads. These are ads that I am sure that most of you have read about a dozen times or more. You know, the classic "envelope-stuffing" scam and the too-familar "assemble products at home" scam. The same lines are used over and over in these ads: "It's Money. We're giving it away", "Guaranteed Cash Gifts", "$3000 Paychecks Weekly", and "Easy Work! Excellent Pay!" If these programs were that easy wouldn't everyone be doing them?
I would say that 95% of these programs listed in the magazine are asking you for money to get started. (Remember, you don't need to pay someone to hire you!) They ask for anywhere from 3.00 to hundreds of dollars.
Some of them ask you to call or write for free information or brochures. I can just about guarantee that after making that phone call or writing that letter, you will be asked for a start-up fee.
I cannot be sure that all of these programs are scams. Some may be legit. However, I have done a lot of research about these kind of programs and I will not be giving them any of my hard earned money! So before sending your money away, please do some research!
So for all of these reasons I cannot recommend this overpriced magazine full of ads.
If you are still curious, browse the freebie sites and I am sure you will find a link for a free copy of this magazine. I will not list the link here because I do not recommend this product.
