As I am flipping through my June/July magazine of Jump, I wonder to myself if this is a magazine that is different like the others like it states. Unfortunately, this magazine is just like the others with articles about how to make yourself pretty, how to get good grades, and even how to become popular. Some articles do have some value and have changed my opinion about that particular subject, but most are pointless and not even worth reading.
One article that I was disappointed with was, 'Raves: The Agony and Ecstasy' in the June/July issue. I felt that it sort of promoted it, instead of giving the real facts and things that really do happen in raves. It did mention the drugs that can really harm you. Both of the girls that were included in the article have done the drugs there. It would have been better if they had someone who has been to raves, but never took drugs. This person would have been a better role model for all girls. Also it would have made a better point that you can have fun without taking any drugs.
I do not want to end this opinion negative, because this is a magazine that is different and original from time to time. But do not be fooled with girl power image they try to pull off. Other magazines that I suggest to read are CosmoGirl!, YM, and Seventeen.
