I have been reading Mad for more years than I care to remember. When I was overseas my mother used to send me a copy now and then. Upon receiving it I would spend the evening reading it. I have never subscribed to the magazine but I still buy a copy and enjoy reading it.
Each issue comes with a spoof on some TV show or movie. I've enjoyed articles on Star Trek and Lethal Weapon, not to mention the political satire in each issue. Sometimes I think these writers can really see our politicians as they really are.
My favorite is Spy vs Spy. I get a real big laugh every time I read this particular strip. I was pleased to see a Spy vs Spy when I watched the comedy on Saturday night Mad TV. It was just a funny animated as it was in the magazine.
It's been quite a while since I've purchased a copy but after writing the epinion I think I'll head out this weekend and get a copy. I need a good laugh and Mad never fails to give me one. Alfred E. Neuman for President was one of the mottos the magazine used back in the 60's and 70's. Maybe it's time to raise the call again.
