pirkelp's Full Review: Maxim Magazine Subscription
Maxim is, without a doubt, the greatest men's magazine in history. Unlike Men's Health or Esquire, Details, or the rest of the drivel that passes itself off as a "Men's" magazine, Maxim deals with issues that are important to men. Things like how to land a plane, cheat at cards, and field tested pick-up techniques. (All of them work...I've tried them)
You have to be an adult to really understand that this magazine pokes fun at everything including itself. What some Femi-Nazis would take as misogynistic is actually pure sophomoric humor, which most men enjoy. Maxim doesn't just poke fun at women though, they poke fun at men as well.
For example, one of the articles in the latest issue dealt with a device to extract a sample of your attacker's DNA. The writers and editors took a shot at themselves and said that their response to an attacker would be to give the man all their money, wet themselves and run. Albeit in much more artistic language.
Overall, the best way to sum up Maxim is to used their own tag line...The best thing to happen to men...since women.
