MAXIM is a magazine proposed to be by guys, about guys, and for guys. However, from the feedback sections, it is like Irish Spring soap; "Manly yes, but she likes it too!" The humor is pretty much guy-targeted, but with consideration given to the ladies as the whole goal of the publication is to make us more suitable to be partners with them; a true win-win proposition.
For example, this months article on "Can't miss pick-up tricks" may seem to be aimed at "guys hunting techniques to hunt down women in the social settings"; but, if the harmless techniques are utilized and thus facilitate the meeting of a compatible couple... where is the harm? It is designed to MEET women, not to misuse and then dump them, right?
Having subscribed in the past to GQ and Men's Fitness magazines; I find MAXIM more to my all-around liking as it provides health tips, "how to please her" advice, media reviews, humor, and interesting yet non-pornographic photos of those whom have become the objects of our affection.
Though there is usually one article seeming a bit lengthy for the subject matter and somewhat interrupting of the "flip and read" format, they are well done and worth the time to read as well.
Overall, MAXIM is not only a well-rounded, often light-hearted, highlight of my month; it is also a bargain with 24 issues for less than $20. I highly recommend it to guys... and to the lady whose guy may need "a little help" in some areas".
