Pros: Visually beautiful, inspirational ideas, original How-To crafts/projects, meal/cake recipes, nursery/playroom decorating ideas, cute babies
Cons: Expensive, few issues, some time-consuming projects need special tools/skills, dads missing in issues

Hi,
I'm not a particularly great fan of Martha but I do think all her products are classy - if nothing else. I was just disappointed that there was so little of Martha in the magazine. Of course someone like Rosie goes all out in the opposite direction and perhaps puts too much of herself into her magazine - if it is still hers at this point.

Hi Trish,
Martha is having so many problems in the press that I was hoping to at least give her magazine a high rating. The more I read, however, the less I thought it was worth the price.
It's a beautiful magazine, though. Great for a coffee table when you want to impress someone but not worth the price otherwise unless you are very craft-minded and will actually do some of the projects.

Hi Melinda,
Yeah, I think it's pricey too. Usually you spend ours making a craft first of all for the sheer pleasure of making something out of nothing and feeling a sense of accomplishment. there is also the joy of making something inexpensively and saving money. Crafters love to brag that they saw a similar item in some boutique for a whole lot more money. By the time you pay for this magazine plus all the supplies, materials and tools, I doubt you've saved much money. Some of the smaller projects are worth attempting. Wish I had more time.

I saw an issue of this in the grocery store, but didn't pick it up because I thought it pricey. Thanks to your great review I know it isn't a magazine for me.
