I was visiting my nephew's apartment and I looked at the area under his coffee table. Peeking from underneath a stack of magazines was one that was glossy and colorful. I reached down to pick it up and saw it was Playboy Magazine. At first I was shocked but then realized my little nephew was 22 years of age. I thought to myself, hmmmmmmmmm, what could it hurt. So I decided to give it a quick look. I opened the cover and saw what I didn't expect.
I saw advertisement after advertisement from reputable companies, from tobacco companies, to movies companies, to electronic companies. I got to the first pictorial and it was about Mardi Gras. It showed women who don't exist anywhere but in the pages of Playboy exposing their upper bodies. I looked at the pictures and thought to myself I would never (even if I could) do that. But what they were showing didn't seem obscene to me. I looked at the rest of the magazine and thought to myself it's really not that bad. Some of the women were down right beautiful. Some looked like they weren't the girl next door but maybe the girl downtown. LOL.
I started looking at the articles. Yes, I said the articles and found they were very informative. I thought this really isn't that bad.
I went back to my nephew's apartment yesterday and the new issue of Playboy is sitting on top of the old issue. It had the same type of articles including articles on Las Vegas, bachelor's parties, and even an interview with Carson Daly.
This time, I began looking at the magazine more closely. They have a lot of "cute" jokes. Some of them were funny and some of them were a little crass, but they were cute.
My nephew his subscription cost him around $ 20.00 for 12 issues. The cover price was $ 4.95. $ 4.95 per issue, to me, is a little expensive.
