Even though Quick Cooking magazine only publishes six issues a year, the $18 annual subscription fee is money well-spent. Quick Cooking has a great format--delicious food recipes that can be prepared in minimal time. And then there is the thing that sets Quick Cooking apart--no advertising! The fact that there are no ads means that every page is full of nothing but food-related information.
A subscription to this magazine is a great buy. The foods are always beautifully photographed for cover pictures and recipe sections. The food index is more than adequate. Page after page is filled with delicious recipes for quick home-cooked foods. These recipes are written in easy-to-understand language that the novice as well as the experienced cook can appreciate. You won't find any exotic ingredients or special equipment in any of the recipes. Most of the ingredients can be found in the average kitchen and only basic cooking utensils are needed to prepare these great meals.
The magazine also has many great tips for saving time and money in the kitchen. The recipes featured in Quick Cooking are submitted by actual readers of the magazine and many are pictured with their recipes, adding helpful suggestions and comments on preparation. Admittedly, you won't find a lot of low calorie recipes but many of the recipes are so versatile that they work well when low-calorie ingredients are substituted. This magazine is perfect for the person who wants the most delicious meal in the least amount of time.
