The Bottom Line: Red Herring has a wonderful website which helps you make your investment and trading decisions. However, Red Herring magazine is totally obsolete by the time you get it.

First of all, I must say that Red Herring has a wonderful site on the Internet for investors and traders. I have been using it for over a year and cannot think of anything bad to say about it. But so far as Red Herring magazine is concerned, most of information it contains is obsolete by the time you get it. Recently, I was almost tricked into buying their magazine. Visiting Red Herring's online site I subscribed to what I thought was a free trial of their online newsletter, but ended up subscribing to a free trial of their magazine. As soon as I became aware of my mistake, I sent them an e-mail letter asking them to unsubscribe me. However, a few weeks later I received the first issue of Red Herring magazine and an invoice for $29! I must admit that I called them and they cancelled my account immediately. Also, $29 for a full-year subscription would have been a wonderful deal before the advent of the Internet, but now you can find all that (and much more) online.
Therefore, my advice to everybody is to save $29 by using Red Herring website and other research sites on the Internet.
