Walking Magazine: A Fun Way to Enhance Your Exercise Program

Written: Feb 24 '01
Pros:Well-written, great design and layout, very helpful.
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Walking Magazine is informative and fun to read. It is a great way to complement your exercise program.

One of my new year's resolutions for 2001 was to get in shape. So far I have done a pretty good job of keeping with the program, but I needed a bit of a boost to keep me motivated.

To do that, I decided to subscribe to a fitness magazine. Walking Magazine seemed like a great choice; I love to walk, and my main form of exercise is walking. (Since there is a ton of snow on the ground I am limited to walking on my treadmill, but once the ground clears I am looking forward to taking nice, long walks in the country.)

Walking Magazine has completely lived up to my expectations. I am excited when each issue arrives in my mailbox, and set aside some time to simply relax and read it. So often I get magazines and they end up piled on the table, waiting to be read. Not so with this one!

This magazine is a nice mix of articles, regular features, and wonderful recipes. There are ads contained within, of course, but they do not overwhelm the reader. The articles are very well-written and easy to understand.

The photographs used in this magazine are excellent, and a pleasure to look at. I have tried several of the recipes I have found in this magazine, and it has been a great experience! The recipes are easy to follow, another big plus in my book.

Various articles also deal with diets and exercise, both topics that are of great interest to me. While I have not tried any of the diets yet, I have incorporated various exercises described in this magazine into my daily routine.

All in all, walking is a very helpful magazine. It is fun to read, enjoyable to look at, and contains a great deal of helpful information. If you are looking for a fitness magazine to help keep you motivated, give this one a try!

It is more cost-effective to subscribe rather than purchase this magazine at the newsstand. A one year subscription contains six issues and costs approximately $18.00. This makes it a fairly expensive magazine, but it is well worth every penny. I am delighted that I subscribed to Walking Magazine, and strongly recommend it.
