JeffSullivan's Full Review: Wine Enthusiast Magazine Subscription
As much as I am a proponent of accessible, clearly defined opinions on wines (such as textual descriptions accompanied by a numerical rating), my preferences don't seem to align well with those of the Wine Enthusiast's tasting panel. Perhaps I'd be able to better interpret their results if they provided taster initials after each tasting note (as Wine Spectator does).
Other things making Wine Enthusiast somewhat less useful than Wine Spectator include the number of wines reviewed (far fewer), and the frequency of publishing (12 issues per year vs. 16). ON the positive side, they have fewer subscribers, so there will be fewer people competing to find the same wines!
The bottom line is go with what works for you and your palate. If Wine Enthusiast produces good referrals that match well with your preferences, by all means take advantage of it.
