Ask my mom and she will tell you that there is a little gremlin in her house that takes her Woman's Day magazine and just runs off with it! You would never know that the little gremlin is me! I must confess though my mom never throws any of her magazines away!
I needed a magazine in the study as it is graciously called at mom's home and mom has a wicker basket full of them. I just reached in and out came Woman's Day from November 1999. This issue has so many good ideas even two years later!
This issue is from November 1999. There are Solutions for "26 Ways to Cut Utility Bills" to "Stain Busters". There is an article in the WD Report section about "Taking It to Heart" about how Heart Disease is a killer of woman of any age.
The most colorful sections of this issue of Womans Day are the craft and food sections.
In the To Make section it is titled "The Witching Hour" and rightly so! There is a design on how to make Jack-o-Laterns out of fruit baskets as will as how to make swinging ghosts for your trees! I especially like the "bone Yard" graveyard. It is too cute! There is also a pattern for a wreath with a witch's hand and "keep out" in odd sized letters for you to hang on your door! A scarecrow standing on his head is a cute addition to any yard!
In this issue here is an article titled "Burglars Beware". The title line catches your eye but the line under it caught mine. Think like a crook and you can stop him. For me this was an especially eye opening article. I never thought about trimming the hedges by the front door! I like the way they hide my door! I guess prowlers do too!
Breast "health" is also a major issue since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month this November issue has a GREAT article on breast care. This is not the place for all that info but I will be writing a review on breast care soon!
Getting out stains is always a challenge no matter the fabric or type of stain! This issue offers some really neat ideas for getting them out but they refer to denatured alcohol. I don't know about you but I have no clue what that is! I am going to have to go to Wal-Mart and find out!
Womans Day always has great food ideas and helpful suggestions for just about anything. They never seem to run out of new ideas or things to do. This magazine makes a great gift.
