Woman's Day
Published: 17 x's year
Single price: $1.49
Standing in the "ten or less" aisle, and of course the woman in front of me has 12 items, my hand slips over to the rack where the impulse buys are. Without actually looking to see what I am grabbing (my eyes are busy watching the woman in front of me as she digs for pennies out of the bottom of the biggest bag I ever seen), I picked up Woman's Day. I looked down at what I had grabbed and the large lettering introducing great tips for July Fourth holiday treats caught my eye. I start skimming through the magazine and found the article. The woman in back of me nudges me, I noticed it is my turn. I toss the magazine on the runner, not even knowing the price at first, but I just had to read that article.
After putting my couple of groceries away, I sat down in the livingroom to read my newly bought magazine. I found the article that grabbed my attention and read it through. It was filled with information. I decided I should read the full magazine, flipped back to the front cover and was completely surprised at the price. Only 1.49.
I read the magazine within one sitting and stuck it with the rest of my magazines. A couple days later, I went back to it again to find that recipe that had gotten my attention before. So what does this all lead up to? Easy...I now find myself scanning the check out aisle for the newest release of Woman's Day when I hit the grocery store. All because of one simple impulse buy.
Features in the magazine:
Crafts: Simple easy direction. Sometimes children's crafts are included with great directions.
Recipes: From everyday meals, to fancy desserts. During holidays watch for great recipes pertaining to that time
Fashion and Beauty: Some fun stuff here, no fancy pancy stuff, but down to earth information
Health: Interesting health information regarding women, children and yes even men.
Words of Wisdom: Interesting tidbits that help with daily life schedules, I have cut a few of these out and stuck on frig.
Those are just a couple of examples of what you will find inside the pages of Women's Day.
It is a simple, small magazine. Generally runs from 64 to 72 pages long. Cover is glossy, on recycled paper. Pictures included inside are not as busy looking as cover is (don't be fooled by this cover). Layout of magazine can be confusing at times when articles get a bit over-runned by advertising. Ads cover from diapers to food products, a wide category of products that mainly pertain to "women".
Women's Day is one of my favorite impulse buys (even though I now look for it)
