(This review is about Pets.com, not the magazine, Your Dog.)
One day last week, a colleague sent around an email to visit Petsmart.com because they were having a sale on dog food. Another colleague replied and said, "That's nothing! Check out Pets.com."
I own a 2.5 year old Weimaraner, who goes through a 40 lb bag of food overy 5 weeks. He eats Iams chunks, which go for about $29 for a 40 lb. bag. When I logged onto Pets.com, I expected to find the price to be about $25. Well, guess what? They were selling 40 lb bags of Iams chunks for $16.97! I quickly ordered 3 bags and went to the check out to see what they'd charge me to ship 120 bags of food.
Well, that was my next pleasant surprise. UPS ground for 120 lbs. of dog food cost me only $4.95! It arrived on my doorstep 5 days later in a plastic wrapping. No hauling it to the trunk from the store, or hauling it to the house from the car. Amazing service.
Pets.com also has great prices on all dog items. I didn't need anything besides food, but I saw leashes and collars that I already own on Pets.com for 50% of the price I paid. I highly recommend this site. And I like their television adds too! Don't you? It's that little sock hand puppet that looks like a dog.
All around, a great service and nicely laid out Web site. Easy to navigate and easy to register.
