My fiance and I are well into our planning. With less than a year left to go and only a few smaller details left to plan, it seems that I’ve seen everything. A whole shelf on one of my bookshelves has been dedicated to bridal magazines. This collection has been amassed over the last year. I received my first magazines as gifts from friends and family, when we announced our engagement. The planning fever is contagious and I caught myself buying other magazines in the checkout line, soon after. Brides Magazine became one of my more frequent purchases.

I’m sure it isn’t a surprise to anyone, but Brides Magazine, like every other bridal magazine, has tons of ads. It is a great resource for those who are in the market for a wedding gown, wedding-day makeup, bridesmaid dresses, invitations, favors or even venues.
The magazine also contains tons of articles. Some give general tips about wedding planning. There are questions and answers about etiquette. You’ll find ideas for all aspects of the wedding and photos to inspire your decor. There are articles that also focus on more specific details of the wedding.
How It Differs From Other Magazines
The ads are plentiful and mostly helpful. There are a few high fashion, Vera Wang-type gowns that make you cringe and hope no bride would actually wear it. Since most of the ads are gown ads, this magazine, like other bridal magazines, is definitely most helpful to those who are still searching for their gown.
The articles are helpful. Every so often, I still find a unique and useful idea. The articles give good advice and the articles that focus on specific topics are very informative. The photos are diverse and suitable for all tastes and styles of weddings. I have found photos of plenty of decorations and other details that I’ve loved, and plenty that are more of a modern style that would fit well with a more casual wedding.
Cost Brides Magazine costs the same price as other bridal magazine: $5.99. The magazine is usually about 500 pages, but I have seen special issues as thick as 650 pages. It is one of the better values in bridal magazines, especially for the larger special issues. It is released bimonthly.
Recommendation Brides Magazine is one of the more useful bridal magazines on shelves. If you want to pick up a bridal magazine, this is one of the ones to pick up. It will be most helpful to new brides-to-be, but still of use to those of us deep in the planning process.
