| Dan.'s Full Review: Men Magazine |
From its name, Men's Journal might seem at first to be--oh no!--another Maxim-wannabe, covering sex, sex, and beer. But Men's Journal is quite the opposite. It focuses on outdoor adventures and retreats. The magazine profiles destinations in the U.S. and abroad, actually takes the journey, and then writes about it. Articles are strong and the reporter's usually imbue them with a good degree of literary prowess. It's big and glossy, so it's fun to flip through. It makes you consider places you may not have thought about. Sometimes Men's Journal serves up interviews, which are generally OK. A recent one with Woody Harrelson comes to mind. There's also a good mix of health, fashion, and love advice to round out the magazine.
