One out of Four different Hook Up products worked for me. This wasn't the one.

Product Rating:
Pros: compact, dries fast, seems to last a long time
Cons: brush is way too thin, my tube's dried out, hard to get a bold line
The Bottom Line: Avon's mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner's a cute idea but the brush is mega thin. My tube seemed dried out and getting a decent line was difficult.
PattyTherre's Full Review: mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner
I have had very hit and miss results with the mark Hook Up line. I don't even know why I keep trying different items but I like the idea of little cosmetics that can be hooked together and swapped out for others.
I bought mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in Lilith mostly because it was on sale and I wondered how a mini eyeliner would work. I generally don't carry an eyeliner in my purse since most stay on and I don't need to touch them up but having a compact one in my cosmetic bag seemed like a good idea. And it was. Just not THIS eyeliner. About mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner
mark cosmetics are made by Avon and supposedly for the younger set but many adult women buy from the line. Hook Ups are are half sized products that "hook up" to other cosmetics in the line. You can hook up a lipstick and a mascara, swap out the lipstick for a eyeshadow, etc. I like that concept for portability.
Lilith was on sale for $1.99. The other shades, Cleo, Medusa, and Callisto are $5.50 each. I still can't figure out what color Lilith is supposed to be. It seems to be a weird coal shade with some plum in it. Maybe....
The little eyeliner came boxed and the tube is black plastic and small. there is 0.08 fl. oz. of liner in the tube. The top slides into the plastic hook up extender and unscrews to reveal a little, very thin brush. The line it draws is very, very thin. It's barely there. The color I chose is very weird too. It isn't dark enough for me nor does it have a certain color that I can actually name. The other colors are a brown, a black, and an electric blue shade.
My tube seems to be dried out or maybe old. The line is sparse and sometimes not there at all and I have to reinsert the brush to get the color on it. When I DO get the color on the brush, the liner goes on pretty well but very thin, as I said. It does tend to stay on for quite a while once it is on though.
I have never had any irritation or eye issues when using mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner but it is just not an eyeliner I would use on a regular basis. The color is weird but more than that, the line is too thin and the formula is either sparse or I got an old tube. It was on clearance for $1.99 so perhaps it was sitting around for a while and dried out while doing so.
I have no intentions of buying anymore mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner and any other Hook Ups. I only hit a home run once with the cream shadows. The other Hook Ups have been very disappointing and this one is no exception. Buying Info
You can buy mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner in the few colors they sell on the Avon website or through an Avon representative. Generally when you buy two mark Hook Ups, you get a free plastic double ended extender to insert your products into. The full price for these eyeliners is $5.50.
Conclusion mark On the Edge Hook Up Liquid Eyeliner gives a very, very thin line and the shade I have is a weird one, that's for sure. My tube seems to be dried out and perhaps old so it's hard to get enough color on the little brush to draw a good straight line. However, once the line actually is on, this liner doesn't fade or seem to lighten at all. It doesn't rub off either. I think, if I had the black shade and it wasn't all dried out (I'm not sure what caused that or if that is just how the tubes are.), I would at least wear the liner now and then. I won't wear the liner I bought though.
Since I'm not sure if my tube was old and that's why I have issues drawing a line and getting any color out of the tube, I'm going to go with 3 stars. My tube is a 2 star one at best but the color and the dried up formula are the main reasons. Hopefully yours (If you get one of these.) will have more liner in the tube and be easier to use. I still don't recommend these liners because the brush is just so tiny and the line so thin. A good liquid eyeliner takes up just as little room in a bag and costs about the same price or a bit more so why settle?
