I have owned my washer for 4 years, first year it leaked all over my floor some flo valve got a hole in it, they replaced it and told me "These are the best washers will last you 15-20 years"  Next year the front door started leaking all over my floor, they replaced the seal told me since I have the first generation of washer in the USA/Canada they are having growing pains. "But these washers will last 15-20 years"  The next year program sensor went, they repaired it "These are the best washers, will last 15-20 years" they said again.  Just after it is out of warranty on year 4, the tub breaks away from the aluminum rear struts supports.(Apparently magnesium in our water causes the deterioration of aluminum) Repair man say they will replace it or fix "these are the best washers will last 15-20 years"  Miele says since I use my washer 2-3 times per day and is now out of warranty they will not cover the repair, they will charge $1000 to fix it.
Over the last 4 years I have lost use of my washer for 1-2 weeks with each breakdown, very inconvenient.  After being assured time and time again as the washer will last by the repair men.  Miele let me down!  DO NOT LET THEM LET YOU DOWN, look to another brand as your money will be waisted with a Miele.
I am spending $400 on a new Maytag, if I get 4 years out of it I will be really happy!
