About Me: Movie theatre manager; hopeful film booker.

Do you know where you are, Tokyo? You're in the JUNGLE!

Pros:Guns N' Roses - LIVE!!
Cons:Trumpets on "Live and Let Die"
The Bottom Line: The first half of the concert from Tokyo. More mellow than the other disc, but still a MUST have for Gunners out there.

Ohhhhh man... Where to begin with this? Guns N' Roses, my favorite band of all time... Axl Rose and Slash on stage together... Can it really get much better? I think not.

This is a rip roarin' two tape (now also available as two region free official Brazilian DVD's). This was taped during a 1992 tour stop in Tokyo, Japan. If you're a huge Guns N' Roses fan, you've got this already. If you're a casual fan, you should own this. If you've never heard of the band, this is a PERFECT way to get to know them.

On the first tape (disc) of the set, you get to see Guns N' Roses (consisting of W. Axl Rose, Slash, Duff MacKagan, Gilby Clarke, Matt Sorum, and Dizzy Reed featuring Traci Amos and Roberta Freeman on backing vocals and Teddy "Zig Zag" Andreas on piano, harmonica, etc...)

1. Nightrain
This track perfectly kicks off the concert with "Bonzi, M-F'r! From Hollywood, Guns N' Roses!" followed by the train whistle. From there, it's right in to this kick butt song.
2. Mr. Brownstone
It only goes up from there with Brownstone. Great performance of this classic song.
3. Live And Let die
The weakest point on the first tape (disc) in my opinion. The trumpets on this (no, I'm not kidding...) kind of bring the song down.
4. It's So Easy
Back to good ole Rock & Roll... no more trumpets. A VERY good sign :)
5. Bad Obsession
Teddy plays the harmonica on this, and Slash has a LOT of fun playing around.
6. Attitude
Duff sings this Misfits cover.
7. Pretty Tied Up
"The perils of rock and roll decadence..." a great Izzy song that just keeps getting better and better.
8. Welcome To The Jungle
Do I really need to talk about this song? Amazing performance of a classic.
9. Don't Cry
The very first Gn'R song ever written. Intro played perfectly by Clarke. Slash tears it up on the solo. Great performance.
10. Double Talkin' Jive
AWESOME!! Features a band jam following the song in which Slash plays a tease of "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" by Jimi Hendrix. "Voodoo Chile" leads right into...
11. Civil War
Awesome performance of one of the best anti-war songs out there.
12. Wild Horses
Gilby and Slash play this beaut from the Rolling Stones. Axl and Duff sing the chorus one time at the end, great music, though.
13. Patience
An electric version of the best song from "Gn'R Lies!" The drumming by Matt Sorum kind of ruins this song, in my opinion.
14. November Rain
The big dawg of the first part of the concert. A simply beautiful piano intro by Axl Rose leading into this song... simply amazing. Very, very beautiful. Then the song itself... probably the best version of this song I've ever heard. The band was simply on fire.
