UNCcarter's Full Review: Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik by OutKast
In 1994 an album was released that was 6 years ahead of its time. It had fresh - tech sounds, new beats and new rhymes. This album was Atlanta based rap duo OutkAsts first LP release entitled "Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik." In my opinion the highlight of the CD is the often sampled and trampled "Players Ball." The newly resampled release Hootie Hoo is also included (resampled by Master P by TRU) which clearly shows their futuristic stance on rhymes and rythyms. There are 17 songs of pure playa rapture on this album, none of which will leave you disappointed. In fact upon its release, southernplaya entered the rap charts at #3 and held #1 for over 6 weeks!! also receiving a 4.5 (out of 5) on the Source® mic scale. Wether you follow the stats, this opinion or others or are just a fan of skool rap, you need this album.
