I agree Baez, another of my favorites, does Stewball better. Did I just give away my age? Wonderful review.

Great review of a great group (trio). My favorite songs by them are "Leavin' On A Jet Plane" and "Puff". I like the versions of "Lemon Tree" and "If I Had A Hammer" a little better both by "Trini Lopez".

I love Peter,Paul and Mary. Growing up,PP&M along with The Kingston Trio,Paul Simon and, yes,Barry Manilow, were always my favs. This made for some goodnatured teasing from friends who were more into the whole late 80's big hair thing. I'm such a nerd, lol. Great review!

Both in general, and specifically about Joan Baez's superior rendtion of "Stewball": not only is the song more suited for her voice, but the lyrics of her version are more poignant.

Old Stewball was a racehorse-and I wish he were mine...I adore Peter , Paul and Mary. I listen to them in my car- sing and drive everyone up a wall. I may look like Mary Travers but I sing more like Eddie Murphy.
