About Me: "We cannot really love anybody with whom we never laugh"-Agnes Rippler.

Third time was a charm

Pros:I can see why this was a big hit. Every song rocks!
Cons:None
The Bottom Line: Lyrically the songs are great, the music in them is cool, and "What Are You Doin' In My Life" is so mean it's funny.

Hello, again! Gee, can you tell I like this band? :). Anyway, this is yet another great album from Tom and the guys. Like my last review (the one on Tom and the guys' first album), since I've reviewed some of the songs off here by way of other albums ("Greatest Hits" and "Anthology"), I'm just going to review songs I haven't reviewed yet. So here goes:

"Shadow Of A Doubt(A Complex Kid)" is one of my favorites off the album. This song is about a girl that Tom likes, and she's sort of mysterious, but that just makes Tom more interested in her, and more willing to love her. I like the line that goes "Sometimes at night I/Wait around 'till she gets off/She don't like working/She says she hates her boss". The weirdest line is the one that goes "And when she's dreaming/Sometimes she sings in French/But in the morning/She don't remember it". Um...o-kay. And the music in here is good, too.

"Century City" is weird. The music is strange, and so are the lyrics. But if you listen to this song on headphones, I'll tell you right now, it's really cool.

"You Tell Me" is another cool song. Have you ever wondered what it would sound like if "Breakdown" and "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around" got mixed together? Well, here's your answer. That's what it sounds like to me. The song is one of my favorites. I believe this song is about this girl who isn't sure what she wants out of this relationship, and Tom would kinda like an answer. This is one of the best songs.

"What Are You Doin' In My Life?" is next. Tom's really mean to the girl in this song, but it's really good and it's kinda funny to see him tell her off so, uh, strongly. This song is about a girl who follows Tom everywhere, and she thinks that he likes her, but Tom DOESN'T like her and he's trying to tell her that. I get a kick out of the line that goes, "What are you doin' in my life?/I didn't ask for you". Ouch. And I like this verse:

Well, this is all a little too much to believe
You put my name all around in the street
Honey, where did you think this was gonna lead?
Baby, will you tell me what you want from me?

I also like the line about how his girlfriend's trying to kill him now because of the other girl, and his friends think he's gone crazy.

"Louisiana Rain" is the last song off the album. The music in it is great, and I like the way Tom's voice moves up and down on the "Louisiana rain" line. I like this verse in particular:

Well, I never will get over
This English refugee
Singing to the jukebox
In some all-night beanery
Yeah, he was eating pills like candy
And chasing them with tea
You should have seen him lick his lips
At old black Molly B.

That verse is cool simply because of the way the lyrics go.
This is a great song.

As I said earlier, I can certainly see why this album did so well. So many great songs from one terrific band.
