The ultimate masterpiece! This is an album that could only be conceived of by Pink Floyd. Each song makes it own unique statement and moves you in different ways, yet the whole can be taken together - as a profound examination of materialism, war and society in general. Do you know someone who doesn't like this music? Obviously, they don't understand it.
From spectacular musical composition to deep lyrical perfection, this album has it all. My local symphony (Atlanta) periodically plays a concert containing this album - but they are missing out on the best half: the lyrics. Pink Floyd forces you to examine yourself and your views while remaining entertaining.
If you like "mood" music, you've got to get this album. After all, Pink Floyd created the genre. Even if you can't figure out what they mean, you'll love the music - but I do recommend you find someone to explain it to you.
