BLHGOLF's Full Review: Operation: Livecrime by Queensryche
I must confess that I'm a somewhat new Queensryche fan..
I've only recently "discovered" them. Two summers ago my
friend played the Empire album at a family picnic and I was
hooked. After hearing that I had to see what else this
fantastic band had recorded. My friend suggested I listen to Operation Mindcrime, he thought it was their best album, and I have to agree. I found out that they had also put out Operation Livecrime, a cd/vhs box set, but sadly it was out of print. I was able to find it on Ebay for about $45.00
though, and this set is fantastic!! The band is right on the
money, and Geoff's stellar voice and exhuberance are something to listen to and see. My favorite part is in the
song "Suite Sister Mary" when Geoff and "Mary" sing to each
other...visually and musically STUNNING!!
It's sad that this band never got the widespread acceptance
they deserved...they are one the most talented metal bands
around. I've been lucky to see them 4 times in the past 2
years, most recently during the summer 2000 tour with Halford and Iron Maiden, and I still think they put on one helluva show!! If you have a chance, and your a metalhead
like me, do yourself a favor and see this band B4 they get
too old... they're GREAT!!
