Sting - Bring on the Night: ...a Most Irresponsible "review"
Written: Feb 25 '05 (Updated Feb 25 '05)
Product Rating:
Pros: Sting's first tour was a jazzy exploration of his Police roots and solo career hopes
Cons: definitely not for Police purists; a must have for Sting fans
The Bottom Line: Jed Clampett struck oil, earning himself a cement pond. Sting wrote songs for The Police, earning himself a reputation and a nasty band breakup. bob_tomato earns himself some disbelieving stares…

it was a very late night, and a very odd mood that made me do it...

[cue familiar classic TV sitcom theme featuring banjo]
Come and listen to my story bout a man named Sting
He once was in a band but he thought he could be king
Then one day he was feelin really steamed
So he soloed up some songs and he called them all a Dream
Blue Turtles, that is
Grammy awards
jazzy stars
Well the record sold well, Sting became the man du jour
His manager said Sting, take it out on tour
But just in case your set may seem a little light
Just raid the song lists from your past, and play Bring on the Night The Police, that is
Low Life
Sahara Tea
They gathered up a band to complete this little scheme
Branford on sax and on drums Omar Hakim
Kirkland played the keys and on bass was Darryl Jones
Jan and Dol sang backup, with Sting out front alone
Vocals that is
Free free
set them free
Its been a lot of years since he took this little trip
Hes sold a lot of records and his sales have rarely slipped
His critics often wonder if a flop will come out next
But Sting just doesnt give a damn; hes having tantric sex
Hot whoopee that is
Yoga moves
Sutra stars
y'all come back now, y'hear?
