Even more dance beats than in the album version!

Pros:Gives fans one more obscure Tiffany item to try to collect
Cons:Not really any new Tiffany vocals you can't get on the album

I thought I was finished reviewing all the Tiffany items when I got through with her albums, but for some reason Epinions has chosen to include the "New Inside [EP]" in their list, by which I assume they mean the maxi-single version of this song, released as a 12" single, a cassette, and a CD. Why this is here but none of her other singles, maxi-singles, or other such non-album items, are here I have no idea. As I always say, Epinions works in mysterious ways.

Really, the "New Inside" maxi-single CD is pretty much only of interest to Tiffany completists who must collect everything she ever put out, and they probably just want it to put on their shelf rather than actually play the thing. It consists of four tracks, all of which are based on the one song "New Inside" (title track and first single from Tiffany's third album). Unlike some of her other singles, there are no "B-side" songs (too bad, since the B-sides have always been among her better songs, and many of them are not available anywhere else than on her singles).

"New Inside" was supposed to be Tiffany's grand return to pop music in 1990, under a different manager and producer, and switching style to R&B-flavored dance music. It never caught on, and a few years later she was back with her old manager/producer again, though this too ended soon (see my other reviews for more details). The song features strong vocals from Tiffany, but they're largely buried in the heavy dance beat, especially near the beginning of the song where the vocals start really soft and fade in gradually. The subject of the song is how she feels "new inside" because somebody has changed her life.

On the maxi-single you won't get any more vocals from her, but there's lots more of that long and heavy dance beat. These are the tracks:

1) 12" Extended Mix: The longest version of "New Inside", all 6 minutes and 27 seconds of it.

2) 7" Edit: The normal "single" version, shortened to 4 minutes and 53 seconds. This version leaves out the "rap" by Dennis Cheese (aka Donnie Wahlberg of the New Kids).

3) Instrumental: A version without any of the vocals, for people who just like the dance beat, not Tiffany herself.

4) Bonus Beats: For dance DJs who thought the extended version was still too short, here are some more dance beats, with a few screams and another copy of the "Dennis Cheese" rap, which you can splice in to lengthen it.
