sunpot71's Full Review: Winds Across the Water by White Eisenstein
Winds Across The Water is my all-time favorite instrumental album. White Eisenstein are consummate artists whose every tone is a gift.
The shame is that they are so little known and, thus, so under appreciated in the mainland United States.
I was introduced to their music by a retired Marine who had "discovered" them while stationed in Hawaii. I'll admit that when I heard they were Hawaiian musicians, I was skeptical. I'm not a fan of what I think of as Hawaiian music, but the White Eisenstein sound defied my stereotyping. Liquid strings (guitar) and mystical winds (pan flute) tempt the spirit, anoint the soul, and whisper of rapture as artfully as any music synonymous with the "New Age."
In Hawaii, the duo, who met because they share a love of surfing, has had ten best-selling albums and won Hawaii's Grammy award, The Hoku. Their concerts, TV shows and engagements have been enjoyed by millions. For a preview of their sound, visit Brad White's pan-flute.com site and look around for a featured tune or two. You'll be amazed.
p.s. I married the retired master gunnery sergeant.
