Techno-Boogie Meltdown!
Written: Jan 25, 2000
Rated a Somewhat Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros:Foot-stompin' fun!!
Cons:The song "Bad Girl"-irritating and unnecessary
"Eliminator" is ZZ Top's greatest work and an essential part of any music collection. Having established themselves as the ultimate Texas blues band, the band radically changed both their image and sound. "Eliminator", released in 1983, is a brilliant mix of monster guitar riffs and sharp techno beats. Guitarist Billy Gibbons lays down some of his greatest licks, supported by the fierce beat of drummer Frank Beard. Dusty Hill, playing flawless bass, sings the band's raunchiest lyrics (sex, pimps, thugs, whips and chains). The result: techno-boogie meltdown, 100% guaranteed to make your feet stomp. The grooves on "Got Me Under Pressure" and "Sharp Dressed Man" are so hot its evil. Like rock music? GET THIS!!
