I always thought Tremor Christ was the highlight of the album. Everything else though....spot on. Great review, though that's a foregone conclusion when it's MattA75 Pearl Jam. :)

Random trivia (Reply to this comment)
by grez
In between playing for PJ and RHCP, Jack Irons was the drummer for an all-too-often overlooked Seattle band named Eleven (who are still otherwise together, BTW). They are a little more art-rock and less arena rock or grunge than the rest of their Seattle counterparts, but worth looking into.
Also, coincidentally, Matt Cameron replaced Jack in Eleven when Jack left for PJ...then replaced Jack in PJ when he left that band as well.
Just thought I'd give you your shot of rock trivia for the day...

Still my fave PJ album... (Reply to this comment)

Even if the interludes are stupid. :)
Quite a thorough write-up...really don't have much to add. Nicely done.
Side note: Longest time I ever spent in a queue for concert tix was for a PJ concert in 1997. 4 1/2 freaking hours. At least nowadays, we have the internet....
