Excellent work, and yes! you certainly did re-write it! I (unlike Nick) remember Marillion, though just barely and, sadly, not particularly positively. But I might actually want to check them out again.

Aggh, I dareay it's my favorite track on the album, followed by "Beyond You". I can see why H gets choked up on that one. I remember using it as a backdrop to an awful breakup I had that year. Definitely appropriate.
Great rewrite and I'm looking forward to reading more!
