No Elbow Room? (Reply to this comment)

How could they leave that off?! 8(. Those great old SHR songs are stuck in my brain forever. Now they're gone to make room for doll and action-figure commercials disguised as "cartoons." Sigh. Very nice review, though! 8) -J.

Those Were The Days... (Reply to this comment)
by QuinnElaine
I miss Schoolhouse Rock almost as much as I miss those long gone Saturday mornings. I blame the death of those glorious cartoon filled mornings on cable tv and channels like the Cartoon Network. Sure, the old favorites can still be found but Only if you have cable.

I find it incredibly sad to think that our kids may be the last generation to really experience Saturday mornings as we did. I know my kids miss this weekly ritual, and are just as saddened as I am at the poor quality of the cartoons they give us now. Fortunately, we are still able to purchase Schoolhouse Rocks on video as well as cd. I wasn't aware of this particular album, and will have to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the memories...

My Hero Zero... (Reply to this comment)
by divad23
The Christian band Zilch did a cover of "Hero Zero" for no apparent reason on their debut (and only) album Platinum. Not that it had anything to do with the rest of their music (except perhaps their name), but it was a fun cover of a song that may help to explain why I fell in love with mathematics the way you did with politics.

that version by Buffalo Tom is pretty cool

then again, I've always thought them to be under-rated

Agree With You About "I'm Just A Bill" (Reply to this comment)
by gfg12
I used to watch with my 2 boys, and I think I'm Just A Bill is a terrific introduction to the legislative process for kids. Schoolhouse Rocks in general was entertaining for parents as well as their children. All in all, an underrated TV show. Very nice remembrance of it. Thanks, Glenn
