Dbbum's Full Review: Riddle Box by Insane Clown Posse
ICP:Riddle Box is the third "Jokers Card" in the series which follows the ICP albums. This album focuses on the carnival and the RiddleBox. The Riddle Box is whos handle you turn after death, to see if you go to heaven or hell. You'll find alot of songs about people dying because of the carnivals scary ways, redneck killings, and more ICP goodness. This album shows more of the carnival and what it's all about. Since this is the third Jokers Card, you must learn what is going on and why. After hearing the cd, you will know for sure what evil lurks ahead. Following is a listing of the song titles, a short bit about the song, lyrics, and my rating of the song. Hopefully this will allow you to see what this album has to offer, and whether it sounds like something to purchase or burn in a bonfire.
Track Listing: 1. Intro - Now that we know about the Carnival, and the Ringermaster, it's time to meet the third Jokers Card. Short introduction to the cd. It just tells us that the Jokers Card is the Riddble Box who decides where we go, turn the crank to see where you go, heaven or hell.

2. Riddle Box - I love this song soley based on the musical beats. It is a loop beat, but the vocals add to things. The Riddle Box, nicely titled because that's just what this song describes. People die and come onto the Riddle Box, where they must turn the crank and see where they go for eternity. If you believe in God, and take this song literally, then turn away from this cd now.

3. The Show Must Go On - A rather sluggish loop beat, with random voices and such. This track as almost no cursing or violent suggestions. The tents are up, the town is coming to see the stairway to hell, the carnival is here.

4. Chicken Huntin' (Slaughterhouse Mix) - Yet another loop beat, but goes along with the lyrics. Another song downing the rednecks, could get violent here. If you haven't noticed, chickens are rednecks.

5. No Title - Just a guy asking ICP quesions, with stupid noises for answers

6. Toy Box - Toyish type of music, this song is crazy kewl. Not recommend to let children hear this, because these toys attack! This is the first song I ever heard of ICP, and since then I've gone all the way. See if you like it as much as I did!
[Lyric Clip]: So I start handing out toys fast at last, You like slinkies we got slinkies, Only mine like to wrap around your face.

7. Cemetary Girl - Slow disturbing song. A girl is handled in a sexual fasion, but to bad she's dead. Violet J has some series problems when it comes to dead women. A "nice" song to listen to if your girlfriend died.
[Lyric Clip]: She's as lovely as always my baby hasn't changed, Except for the hole that's in her forehead you can see her brains.

8. 3 Rings - Now that your in the carnival, watch the 3 rings! Not your standard rings of excitement, just more of ICP and their freakish comedies. People who are made fun of in life can relate to this song.
[Lyric Clip]: So what if I got another arm growing out of my back, I guess I'm just another freak show thing, And now they got me in the three rings.

9. Headless Boogie - A dance song for the ICP fans. Not much to say here, dancing dead bodies in the graveyard...what else is there to say?
[Lyric Clip]: No heads but they feet still glide, Take a step back twist and dive, I even seen Kurt Cobain get live.

10. The Joker's Wild - A vocal comedy in the form of a gamshow. You won't find Bob Barker in this one, because Violent J & Shaggy are the hosts now. The contestents, a cop, a judge, and a redneck. Things aren't going to be even here, they will all lose, and we find out how.
[Lyric Clip]: Looks good nice try, Now let's see just how ya gonna die?, Lucky lucky he landed on Carpenter Jed.

11. Dead Body Man - Someone has stolen dead bodies from a mourge, wow big surprise hun? This slow deadly beat is nice to chill out to. Just don't mind the dead bodies if you can help it. This is a classic ICP death song!
[Lyric Clip]: I ate a dead body but don't tell I lied, I just ate my first dead body last week, Still gots the finger nail caught in my teeth

12. Lil' Somthin' Somthin' - A love song from Shaggy, but not your standard love song by any means. Shaggy finds a chick, and gets freaky with her. I totally love this song just because it's funny. Nice and slow with some drums in the background.
[Lyric Clip]: I walked her all the way home when it got dark, She took me inside and when the door shut, Next thing ya know I had my nuts in her butt.

13. Ol' Evil Eye - A movie? This is kinda scary, especially if you listen to it in the dark. Just a song about some old creepy guy with an evil eye. Good song too, not much death or violence, just the standard cursing.
[Lyric Clip]: I ring the door bell the door creeps open, And there it was staring and scoping, The man's left eye ragged big and dripping.
[Ratings]: Overall Rating 6/10
14. 12 - 12...12 is the number of people who will die tonight. A storm is brewing, and revenge is not hard to do. There's not much reason for killing these people, but that's what the song is about. I love this song, because it sounds like a Halloween or Nightmare on Elm Street movie. This is also fun to listen to in the dark.
[Lyric Clip]: Next one makes love to his wife, Only wish to take his life, For his family's done no wrong.

15. The Killing Fields - Another song that's great in the dark. Now that the carnival has hit the town, it's time to see where the dead preside. This shows us the aftermath of death.
[Lyric Clip]: That's when giant heavy red and black clouds form, It's raining blood livers and kidneys from the sky, Prepare cuz when you die, you're coming to the killing fields.
[Ratings]: Overall Rating 8/10
16. I'm Coming Home - Talks about the gutter where they live. Now that we witnessed the carnival and it's destructive power, we take a stroll back home. Songs talks about the home town and what it's like. Really nice ending to such an excellent album. After hearing the entire album you almost wish there was more to it. Enjoy the cooldown, because this song is great.
[Lyric Clip]: Hey I'm coming home, Home to the criminals and crooks, Home to the gangs shooting dirty looks.

Now that we've seen what Riddle Box is all about, you can relax one last night before you get your neck cut off. The Riddle Box, ICP's vision of where you go after death, turn the crank and see if you will go to heaven or hell. This album is more than just songs, it's part of a book, a book with a beginning, middle and end. This is the middle, the pre climax of the entire story. If you only read this one chapter, nothing will make sense.
That's the whole deal with the Riddle Box. I'd recommend this cd to anyone who wants to follow ICP, or is already doing so. ICP fans MUST have this album, otherwise you are missing out on a major part of your life. Non fans of ICP will probably not enjoy hearing one bit of this album. Be warned this album contains racial slurs, sexual content, violent episodes, and alot of cussing. If you have a twisted sense of humor, this cd may grow on you after awhile, otherwise just forget it.
