On Labor Day Weekend, 1996, my best friend from my early years in High School was killed by a drunk driver. Apparently she was visiting her fiancee in Camp Pendelton (Marine Base) outside of San Diego, while she was on her way home that night, a drunk driver hit her head on, and killed her instantly. I hadn't talked to her in about 2-3 years prior to this incident, and regret it very much. I went to her services, and they played Celine Dion's "Because you Loved Me." When I spoke to her mother, she had said that she found the single of this song in her tape player, and the lyrics she had written underneath her bed. I was never a big fan of Celine Dion, nor slow music for that matter, but after hearing that song, and listening to the lyrics, I knew why it meant so much to Danni. She was so much in love. Danni was a very sensitive person. She understood the meaning of love, and found ways to express it. A girl with a good heart. Whenever I hear "Because you loved me" by Celine Dion, I think of no one else BUT Danni. I remember the tears flowing in my eyes when I heard that song playing in the church, and thinking to myself what a beautiful song it was. Now I am open to all kinds of music. And thanks to Danni, I am a great fan of Celine Dion, and I really think her music is very inspirational. That song helped me get through a very rough time, in my great loss of a good friend. I still get teary eyed when I hear that song...Or any song of Celine's, something about her voice...It's so beautiful. The voice of an angel. I would highly recommend this song to anyone who hasn't heard it. If you have an open heart, and are open to all types of music, if you are a sensitive person, I think you will enjoy this song very much. And just remember that this song has touched many people's hearts in many ways, as I still use this song to remind me of all the great memories I have shared with Danni, and that day I had to say goodbye.
