Your opinion is pretty spiffy too.

Not even The Pixies?
:)
Thanks again, you're makin' me think though I must admit I still don't agree. However GNR Appetite for Destruction is a GREAT album. That's seriously the truth...

they WERE the late 1980s
Egads!! It's gone from bad to worse....
BACK AWAY FROM THE CRACK PIPE!
:)
Good bands, but I'm thinking the late 1980s a period of transition...vague, formless, and unremarkable...IMHO...Nothing good (and new) happened between GNR's first album and Nirvana's Nevermind.

Nope. Not at all...I think they were a major influence to punk, grunge, and the like in the early 1990s which as in turn has weighted on everything musical since.
No overstatement here that I can see...
I never said they were perfect though. Jane's Addiction was certainly flawed.
Consider me crazy. Consider me jaded. Consider me wrong. Doesn't really matter. Along with The Pixies (I almost mentioned them in this review), Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys and a few others they WERE the late 1980s. Maybe I should have said late 1980s instead of 1980s...
In any case, thanks for stopping by and picking up on what I said even if you don't agree :)
As always,
Shelly.

Janes Addiction is easily one of the most important bands to have come out of the 1980s.
Don't think that's just a wee bit of an overstatement?
