deflep's Full Review: Belly to Belly - Vol. 1 by Warrant
Belly To Belly was a heavier version of Warrant. That's really the only way I can put it. It has some good songs, and some bad ones, but overall it's an all right album.
****To Name the Best and Worst****
In The End *** What can I say about this song? In the End has a catchy chorus. It's a pretty sad song, but I don't feel he goes anywhere with it. I think it stays in one place building tension, but they never release it.
Feels Good **** This song is pretty darn sad! Feels Good is said to be about the band "starting from scratch". With the new members in Warrant, to the small time record company, they band was starting from scratch. He talks about how he feels good, knowing that he can't get any lower than he is. It feels good when you can't get any worse than where you're at, which is rock bottom. Sad sad song.
Letter To A Friend **** Jani says this song is about how he thinks a relationship should end, on good terms. It's pretty sad when you think about it because Jani hadn't really had any good endings in his relationships.
AYM ** AYM stands for Angry Young Man. I don't think this song really goes anywhere. It sounds like Warrant... It is Warrant, but it doesn't go anywhere.
Solid **** Solid is about feeling invisible and feeling like you don't belong. It's another sad song. Featuring heavy guitars, a sad lyrical meaning, and heavy drums, this song is one to hear.
Falling Down ***** This song is about your world falling down and knowing it all the while. I'd say this is one of the better songs on the album. It starts off pretty mellow and gets heavier throughout it.
Vertigo **** Vertigo is about... well.. drugs. Vertigo actually is a sense of dizziness.
Room With A View ***** This is a really sad song. It's about people who don't have too great of lives and how they do what they need to feel good: drink alcohol, prostitute, etc. It really is a sad song that I think is one to check out.
Belly to Belly is a pretty good album. I wouldn't say that it's for everyone, but I would still check it out.
