I also found it odd. He sticks out like a sore thumb on this disc. Maybe he has one of the highest "name recognition" factors of all Rounder artists? Or maybe they would run into licensing problems with the guys you mentioned?

...head-scratcher when placed in company of those other "pioneer" names. If you're going to go contemporary, how can you put him in there and not Buddy Guy, or Mike Bloomfield, or BB King, or Stevie Ray Vaughan, or Eric Clapton? Weird.

Not a great one yet, but yeah. :) I recently joined a league that plays out of a few local dive bars. I got sick of just sitting and watching my husband compete!
