About Me: "I'm not as think as you drunk I am officer..."

Violent J all the way.

Written: Jul 24 '01
Pros:The beats, the lyrics, the humor.
Cons:Not for kiddies.
The Bottom Line: Sweet tunes and great humor make this a must have CD. You don't even have to like ICP to like this album.

The Great Melinko, not really an early album, was the first major album from ICP. However, they first signed the CD to a label owned by Disney, and they clashed. Therefore, make sure you get the Island Records version of the album, or you will really miss out. The major albums are comprised of Joker's Cards, which play as the album cover. The Great Milenko (the magician) is the 4th, and at the arrival of the sixth, the world is up a certain creek without a paddle.

Here is a track-by-track review of one of ICP's best albums. I will even rate each individual song with 1-5 *'s.

Intro: A bunch of red necks enter a saloon-dance place and put on a song. After a few seconds, the record is taken over by a mysterious voice anouncing the arrival of the 4th Joker's Card. **

The Great Milenko: Now it's ICP introducing The Great Milenko. It's an O.K. tune, but it's short, and is worth listening through, like, once. **

Hokus Pokus: Now we are getting somewhere. This is one of the best on the album. It has a totally kick-@$$ tune, with Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope rapping about the Dark Carnival.
*****

Piggy Pie: Violent J goes around killing "piggies", though it becomes obvious that they are people. They are pretty gruesome deaths though, as said in this verse, "...and pulled his f**king tongue out the back of his cranium."

After the song, there's a skit about this guy who calls a suicide hotline, only to get stuck with Violent J, who really doesn't help much. ****

How Many Times?: A slower song. This is about living with all the bull sh*t that life deals. Play this loud because the bass really thumps here.

After the song there's another skit, this time involving a really young kid talking like a full-blown gangsta. Funny. ****

Southwest Voodoo: Violent J and Shaggy are rookie voodoo wizards, and they give hell to the non-believer. Good tune, and pretty funny.

There's a mini-skit after the song about an acrobatic feat that goes REALLY wrong. ****

Halls of Illusions: The best song on the album, if not the best song ever created on the history of the world. The Halls of Illusions are a Dark Carnival attraction where people see illusions of how their life could have been if they didn't screw it up. Best tune also. *****

Under the Moon: Guy and Girl in love.
Otherguy rapes girl.
Guy kills other guy.
Guy goes to jail.
Guy sad
Guy after many years in jail goes insane.
Sad song, but not the best. ***

What is a Juggalo?: ICP gives a rather graphic depiction of what they consider to be Juggalos. If these people really do exist, I'm moving to China. *****

House of Horrors: Nothing to do with the Dark Carnival. A couple walks into a haunted house, and meet ICP. I think the funniest thing is when the guy freaks out and whimpers "I'm scared." *****

Boogie Woogie Wu: Because this song has nothing to do with central theme of the album, people never appreciate it. Therefore, they over look the fact that this is actually a good song. It's one of my favorites because it's the first ever song I've heard from ICP. *****

The Neden Game: This song gets the "Worst Lyrics on the Album" award. It's not a bad song. It's a parody of the Dating Game. However the last few lyrics are just like "what?" ****

Hallelujah: Maybe even a lesser known song. This is about a church whos soul purpose is to collect money. It's about how some churches scam you. ***

Down With The Clown: Sweet song, and probably about .0007% worse than Halls of Illusions. This songs asks you if you will still be "Down With the Clown" if Violent J grew another head, or ICP decided to sell out. *****

Just Like That: A regular, ordinary day for ICP, until Violent J gets shot in a drive-by. ***

Pass Me By: It's being argued whether or not this song connects to Just Like That, but basically it's about why people are sad when you die, while you are chilling in afterlife, with unlimited faygo and free money. ****
