Re: To each their own, I guess (Reply to this comment)

I would guess the answer to that is it won't ever appeal to me. I like their debut quite a lot and Four a little less. This on the otehr hand just wasn't worth my time or my attention unfortunately. I wish that Blues Traveler could return to the original sound they had in the early 1990's even now...
Anyway, thanks for the comment & for reading my review even if we clearly don't agree.

To each their own, I guess (Reply to this comment)

I personally can't comprehend or even try to realize how anyone wouldn't like this album, well at least not without making my head explode. I as well as many others kinda fell off the BT bandwagon after this album came out, but I did so because I didn't even know the band was still around, not because I didn't like this album.
As a little side note, of their first five albums (all of which I own) I would have to say Straight on til Morning is my personal favorite, and Four is my least favorite, but still highly enjoyable.
But anyway (no pun intended) I enjoyed your review. Who knows? Maybe one day the album will all make sense to you. Then again, maybe it won't.
Peace,
Paul K

I was really hoping I wasn't entirely off base with my review. It seems that MANY people found themselves in the same boat with Straight On Till Morning.
Thanks again.

Bummer. (Reply to this comment)

I was a big fan of "Four", but then the guys seemed to come kinda unglued. I'm glad they're still hanging in there, but I do wish they could get creatively back on-track.
Thanks for a fine review and BT update,
Brett

I totally agree with ya about this one. No matter how often I came back to it, nothing ever really grabbed me. One minor exception is "Felicia", which is admittedly so disjointed that it's a miracle the song manages to stay on its feet, but I always found it kind of neat.

Sad, sad, sad (Reply to this comment)

Wow, I was a huge BT fan during the 90's. I completely love their debut, Travelers & Thieves and Save His Soul. I still like those. Four was good and I didn't mind they were labeled "sell outs" at the time. Their live shows were still killer. Then something happened. Live From The Fall failed to capture their live show intensity and sadly, Straight On Till Morning fell very flat. I kinda drifted away from the band then. I did see them last year in Las Vegas and while still good live, there's just no spark. Well, at least not like the old days.
Sorry for the rambling and great review as always.
