Who do they sound like?

Blue Amazon is one of those groups that I discovered by chance. Back in 1997, Blue Amazon released the single "And then the Rain Falls". I had heard some rumblings about it and happened to come across a single copy of it while browsing the racks at the local Sam Goody. Now, I hate Sam Goody and all but refuse to purchase anything from them, but I suspended my dislike of Sam Givemeallyourmoney and took a chance. WOW! Since then, I have picked up quite a few other Blue Amazon singles, mix cds, etc.
Javelin contains 9 tracks in all. That might not seem like much, but the disc runs 79 minutes in length. Two of the tracks are quite short, so there are really only 7 songs in all on this disc.
Most of the tracks begin with a minute to 2 minute build of various spaced out wind and female voice stretches. Once you are sufficiently enticed, the beats kick in to whip you into a frenzy.
The synth lines on this album aren't the most complex you've ever heard, but I enjoy them a lot and haven't tired of this album, even after dozens of listens.
Even though this disc was released in 1997, you be hard pressed to tell it from the sound. Even after 4 years, the sound is still quite fresh and fits well with the current rise of progressive music. If you are a trance junky but looking to expand into the progressive realm (even though they seem to be one in the same as of late :), give this disc a spin.
One final word of warning. I recently picked up Blue Amazon's new 12" "Breathe". While I do like it, I very much prefer their earlier stuff off of Javelin. If you are looking to check out Blue Amazon, start with Javelin.
What else should I check out?

* Double 10" clear blue vinyl release of "4 Seasons" with mixes by Fuzz DJ and Cynical Stereotypes DB [sm:)e sm-9016-0]
A special note: Side 4 of the "4 Seasons" set mentioned earlier contains one of my favorite run out quotes of all time...
