Pros: excellent cd
Cons: very little
Tina Turner’s cd Private Dancer features the songs What’s Love Got To Do With It, I Can’t Stand The Rain, Better Be Good To Me, Let’s Stay Together, and Private Dancer.
I bought Tina Turner’s cd Private Dancer because I liked the singles from the cd. I liked them as soon as I heard these songs on the radio. I wondered if the rest of the songs would sound as good as the ones that were on the radio. I am glad that I bought this cd because this is an excellent cd.
Private Dancer is a rock cd with a mixture of r&b and pop. This is the perfect cd for fans of all three genres. What I liked about these songs is that I felt like I knew them as soon as I heard them. I like when songs feel that familiar to me. Speaking of the songs, the songs on this cd are about the ups and downs of relationships. She also has a song about a stripper dancing for money. I respect the fact that the songs she sang aren’t like the other songs on the radio. This is basically an uptempo cd, but there is a ballad too.
Tina worked with Jeanette Obstoj, Rupert Hine, James West-Oram, Terry Britten, Graham Lyle, as well as others. I’m not familiar with the people who worked on this cd, but they did excellent jobs with these songs.
Tina Turner’s voice is very good. She is a low alto. I like the rich tone in her voice. There aren’t many females that sound like her. She was able to belt in her songs despite the deep tone to her voice.
What’s Love Got To Do With It has an r&b/rock beat. The guitar, keyboard, and drums are on point. The music is infectious. Tina’s vocals are also on point. She sings the verses softly and belts the chorus. Speaking of the chorus, it’s very catchy. I love to sing along with her. Everything about this song works for me.
I Might Have Been Queen has a rock/dance beat. The guitar and drums drive the music. Tina’s deep voice really flows with the music. I like how Tina belts when she sings the chorus. She also belts after the second verse. I like how she adds ad libs during the bridge. I have no complaints. Show Some Respect has a rock beat. The music is very catchy. I love the guitar riffs. I like the play air guitar right along to the music. Tina belts throughout the song. I’m impressed that she can keep up with the loud music. My only complaint is that the musical pause is a little long. Other than that, I have no complaints. I Can’t Stand The Rain has a pop/r&b/rock beat. The beat is incredible. Tina’s tone of voice is perfect for the music. Her deep vocals are great. I love the mellow vibe of the song. I have no complaints about the song because it’s flawless. Private Dancer has an r&b/rock beat. The music is fantastic. I love the mellow vibe of it. The guitar and keyboard sell the music. Tina sings the song in a lower octave from her normal voice. I love the richness in her voice. She shows a lot of versatility in her voice. I don’t usually hear songs about strippers, but this song works. I’m not surprised it was the title track. I have no complaints.
Let’s Stay Together has an r&b/rock beat. This is a remake of Al Green’s song. This version has a rock edge to it. Tina’s deep and rich vocals are spot on in this song. I love how she belts in the song. I’m glad that she managed to make the song her own. I like her version just as much as Al Green’s version. I have no complaints about this song. Better Be Good To Me has an r&b/rock beat. I love the beat of the song. The guitar riffs are amazing. I love the thumping drumbeat. Tina’s tone was incredible. She sings in her lower register and gets a little higher in the chorus. Everything about this song works for me. Steel Claw has a rock/pop beat. The guitar riffs are amazing. I love playing air guitar to this song. I love the way she speeds up the lyrics in the verses. She slows things down when she sings the chorus. It’s a little hard to understand her, but I love how she sings the song like this. She sings the song with a growl in her voice and it works. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this song based on the title, but it’s very good. My only complaint is that there are a couple of long musical pauses. Other than that, I have no complaints. Help has a rock/pop beat. I love the guitar riffs and the drumbeats in the song. Everything about the music works. Tina’s vocals are on point. She nails this song. Her rich vocals are perfect for the music. I love how she belts the chorus. The musical pause is a little long, but the song is very good. 1984 has a rock/pop beat. I love the guitar and drum beat. The music is perfect for the song. Tina belts throughout the song. She has control over her voice and doesn’t sound like she’s oversinging. The music is loud so her belting fits for this song.
Tina Turner’s Private Dancer is an excellent cd. I love all of the songs on this cd. I don’t have to skip through any of the songs. I like how the cd doesn’t sound dated in my opinion. A few of these songs are still played on my local adult contemporary radio stations. I highly recommend it.
I give the cd 5 stars because it’s an excellent cd.
