maxshroom's Full Review: Duck and Cover by Mad Caddies
Now I had my period in time where I considered myself a big listener to ska, and music of the such. Since those days I have moved on to better music, not because I don't like ska anymore, but because there aren't any good ska bands. The Mad Caddies have changed my opinion about ska though. Even though I would categorize them as a ska band they do a good job of throwing in some rock and make their sound all the much better. Duck and Cover is their second full LP, After their 95 release "Quality Soft Core".
The Caddies are from Goleta, Ca. And they have played all over the state. But this album will take them other places. From the first track "Road Rage" you get a lot of horn along with an almost 30's style Charleston Sound. But the CD progresses into slower tunes that build up to an awesome jam at the end. And also the album includes a good blend of music that is great to hear. The Caddies lead singer has a unique sound that you just love to hear.
The only thing about The Caddies is that they are a ska band and therefore their album is kinda short.
