jtfourh's Full Review: The Supernatural Experience by dc Talk
I can listen to a pretty wide variety of musical genres. At my current work, we have a radio on usually to the same old top 40 songs over and over. This dc talk album is far better than most everything we hear. If you've never heard them before, I highly recommend it. Don't be scared by the fact that the lyrics are about God's love and loving one another. The music will pull you in. Most have a great beat, some have a bit of an edge.
I have never seen dc talk live. I don't need to know that these guys are extremely gifted and well produced. Toby McKeehan, Michael Tait, and Kevin Max are named as one or more of the writers of every song on this awesome album by Christian music's supergroup.
The top four songs on this album (my favorites, anyway)in no particular order:
* "Consume Me"
--speaks about God's love and how the closer we get to Him, the more we want to please Him and do His will for our lives. This is kind of a novel concept compared to what the rest of the world teaches about get rich, get the toys, make some noise...
* "Godsend"
--a love song if there ever was one...
* "Into Jesus"
--talks of how, despite all the problems life brings, we can always count on the love of Jesus to be there to steady us. It's a nice feeling, eh?
* "Wanna Be Loved"
--acknowledges how love is the ultimate driving force for our lives.
Check it out! This and all the dc talk CD's are some of the best offered and will not go out of style due to the timeless lyrics about God's love.
